1010 Poland, Germany, b. 1979.

Biography

Polish by birth but settled in Germany since he was 8 years old, 1010 is known for the enigmatic “portals” he has painted on the walls of the most important cities around the world. He began doing abstract works of snakes and birds, but in the last decade he has dedicated himself to making murals that give the illusion of being “holes in the wall”.

The work of 1010 is recognized worldwide for its peculiarity and its ability to manipulate the viewer's vision, creating the illusion of three-dimensional gaps or colorful portals that go through walls and urban spaces.

Recently, 1010 created one of his largest interventions in his artistic career, covering 4500 m² of a section of the motorway in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, using 400 liters of paint over 7 days.

For his exhibitions in galleries, 1010 takes his work to a smaller scale, using different techniques and working with contemporary materials, acrylic paint and hand cut paper.
