On March 12, "El Peso de la Forma: El diseño gráfico de Carlos Cruz-Diez" will be inaugurated at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía @museoreinasofia in Madrid, Spain. The exhibition will be available until June 11, 2021 at the Nouvel Building, Library and Documentation Center, Space D.
This exhibition curated by Ariel Jiménez highlights the work of Carlos Cruz-Diez as a graphic designer, through which he played an important role in the development of the Venezuelan publishing industry, contributing to a related change where a company becomes something more than technicians (typographers, layout designers, printers) to one in which the design adds the formal and chromatic sensibility of the visual artist to the profession.
With archival documents from @fotourbanaorg and the @CruzDiezArtFoundation, this exhibition showcases editorial design works, posters, and exhibition catalogs spanning from 1930 to 2015.
