Rodrigo Machado Iturbe Caracas, Venezuela, b. 1959.

Biography

Artist and graphic designer, with design studies and art workshops at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá.

His work is conceptually inserted in the revision and reconceptualization of modern and contemporary art movements of the 20th century, also following trends that have marked and defined contemporary art at the beginning of the 21st century. His main references come from optical, kinetic, geometric and retinal art, and great artists such as Jesus Soto, Carlos Cruz-Diez or Gego.

Made with sophisticated high-tech printing techniques on aluminum surfaces and other contemporary materials, his works 'disturb' the human retina, through intersecting lines that create effects of visual movement.
