Donaldo Barros Caracas, Venezuela, b. 1982.

Biography

Venezuelan artist and photographer, better known as DoBa. In Caracas he began to reflect the daily social context of his surroundings through photography, with important documentary works that quickly made him known among the public in his country. Subsequently, inspired by Venezuelan artists such as Jesús Soto and Carlos Cruz-Diez and influenced by the work of Victor Vasarely, DoBa began to experiment with light and movement in an urban context as the basis on which to develop his artwork.

In 2015, DoBa met Carlos Cruz-Diez, who invited him to his workshops in Paris and Panama, to learn about the principles of this movement. This is where DoBa's interest in kinetic, abstract, and optical art aligned, leading him to develop his own perspective.

“Streetnetic” is the artistic proposal of Donaldo Barros in which he uses photography as a means to build abstract images based on experimentation. They are urban photographs in which the everyday reference goes into the background and becomes an abstract work from a perspective that reinterprets and transforms.
