  • FUGAZ DE RAFAEL BARRIOS (2017)

ARTWORK INTEGRATED TO THE LOBBY OF KENEX PLAZA BUILDING

Venezuelan artist Rafael Barrios is one of the leading Latin American artists today in the field of sculpture and geometric abstraction. His works, characterized by breaking with orthodox directionality by accessing new possibilities for perception, have given him a place and an important recognition in contemporary art.

The work “Fugaz Mural” is a large-format piece, however, designed for an interior space. The piece has been designed to anchor directly to the wall and give a sensation of lightness that contrasts with the materials from which it is made.

As part of our “Beyond our spaces” initiative, we installed the work in the entrance lobby of the Kenex Plaza building, in Panama City, where it served as a welcome to visitors to the office tower, while dialoguing with Carlos Cruz-Diez’ monumental piece integrated in the building facade.
