Manuel Ojeda San Fernando de Apure, Venezuela, b. 1968.

Biography

Graduated from the Cristóbal Rojas School of Visual Arts in Caracas where he studied Pure Art and Painting, Manuel Ojeda performs a work in which the abstraction starts from the reference to nature, refining it until reaching his own vocabulary of a few signs that then he combines to generate different results.

In his work, the superposition of planes and the transparency of colors generates plastic spaces defined by the interaction of the elements that make up the artist's discourse. More recently, Ojeda has taken his proposal to space, embodying the positive and negative planes of his pictorial work.

Manuel Ojeda worked for 18 years as assistant to Carlos Cruz-Diez in his studio in Caracas and is currently one of the collaborators of the Articruz studio, where he has been developing his own work since 2010.
