In our permanent room dedicated to Maestro Carlos Cruz-Diez, we keep an example of one of the artist's most important research on the phenomenon of color: the Cromosaturation

Chromosaturations are artificial environments devised by Cruz-Diez in 1965, composed of three colored chambers –one red, one green and one blue– that immerse the visitor in a completely monochrome situation. These environments bring into play a different notion of color as a material or physical situation, going into space without the aid of any form or even without any support, regardless of cultural beliefs.

The experience of entering an Cromosaturation causes disturbances in the retina, accustomed to simultaneously detect wide ranges of colors. It invites the viewer to remain a few minutes in each chamber in order to experience the new generation of chromatic nuances and unstable situations.
